For those that don't know; Mountain Monsters is a Travel Channel show about a group of hunters and trackers who go in search of mythical creatures, known as cryptids, that most people have only heard about in legends and folktales.
Season six of Mountain Monsters finished airing last year in November 2019 and after the death of cast member John "Trapper" Tice was announced in December 2019, and with the restrictions brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic the future of the show has been uncertain.
However, we are extremely pleased to be able to tell you that Travel Channel have just announced there will be a 7th season (although Travel Channel refer to it as season 5 due to the first two seasons airing on Destination America)... But you'll have to wait a little longer before you get to see it.
The official US premier date for the new season of Mountain Monsters is set for January 10th 2021. But, there will also be a special tribute episode honouring the late John Tice airing the week before on January 3rd called Mountain Monsters: A Tribute to Trapper where the team get to share their favourite episodes and memories.
Travel Channel said of the new season: "The surviving members meet up for the first time after Trapper’s passing to discuss the team’s future and embark on adventures during seven one-hour episodes and a two-hour season finale."
If like us you're in the UK, you can catch Mountain Monsters on Sky or catch-up using Sky Plus. However, only the first four seasons are currently available to view. As soon as we get news of UK release dates for the new season we'll let you know.
